Empowering the Next Generation Through Scholarships

At Black Peoples Hair Alliance, education is a core pillar of our business mission to advance the Powernomics National Plan. We proudly offer scholarships—funded 100% by our company’s profits—that support ambitious students pursuing higher education and leadership development. We currently partner with the Young Black Leadership Alliance, founded by John and Tammy Martin, whose work preparing young Black leaders through mentorship, skills training, and community-centered development aligns directly with our vision. We also partner with universities to provide scholarships that will help prepare future leaders in American society.

Our grants are completely separate from our scholarships and are funded entirely by donations from the community. Grant support can go toward university tuition, hair school, trade-school programs, and first-time Black-owned businesses. We draw inspiration from the power of collective giving, such as when Black women raised about $1.5 million and Black men raised $1.3 million for Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaign in a single weekend that's $2.8 million total in 3 days. Imagine $2.8 million raised in a single weekend helping our own people, some of whom we actually know—that same energy and collective power can transform the education, growth, and leadership of our community.

Our scholarship programs go beyond financial assistance — they represent a commitment to invest in students’ academic, professional, and personal growth. By providing mentorship, resources, and opportunities for leadership development, we ensure these students are empowered to succeed and make a lasting impact. Through these initiatives, we honor the PowerNomics vision, developed by Dr. Claud Anderson, of building economic and community empowerment within Black communities, creating pathways for lasting prosperity and leadership.
